Two Months in Brazil

Copa Do Mondo 2006 Gold Medallist

Once again I headed south for the summer. This is my third trip to Brazil and I loved every minute of it.

When I go to Brazil I train at the Nova União Head Quarters under Dede (Professor André Pederneiras) and his group of Black Belt instructors.

Dede just built a new school which is a top of the line facility and the nicest one I ever trained in. It had two very large mat spaces and full size ring dividing the two.

I had the chance once again to train with many of the great Jiu Jitsu guys and coaches in the world. To name a few, Rodrigo Ruas, Pedro Rizzo, Shoalin, Thales Leites, Leonardo Santos, Darly Gohlar and I cannot forget my 5 time Olympic Wrestler Chris Brown. I also had the great pleasure of meeting John Donehue the head coach of Extreme Jiu Jitsu. He also showed me a few tricks to add to my game.

Like other years I compete in both World Championships and this year I managed to bring home a Gold medal from the Copa Do Mondo. It was a great feeling considering that I was sick for the week of the championships and felt like a sack of shit.

I was trying to keep track of my training but after most training I was to frick'n beat to type. So you can read some it on the my Journal.
