Amy's Place

Hello All!

Oh My! It sure has been quite a while since my last update--sorry all, been a busy life since we had Taylor, and she keeps me very busy everyday. For those of you who use Facebook--many of our photos have been updated there, but for those of you that don't you can still catch up with us via this website.

This year has so far been a very busy one. We started off the year with celebrating Taylor's 1st birthday on January 20th. I have photos posted on her photo album page of the big day. She is now onto sippy cups full time, except for her bedtime bottle of milk--she's having a hard time letting go of that one. She is no longer using a pacifier, as I weaned her off of that a number of weeks ago. AND, finally she is sleeping all the way through the night--upwards of 9.5 hours a night of solid sleep--which also means Devin & I get to sleep through the night as well....LOL. She is still teething--she currently has 4 in the front on top, 4 in the front on the bottom, her first set of molars (all 4), and right now she has 1 of her eye teeth coming through, and the 3 others are not far behind. She weighs still around 21-22 lbs, but I have no idea how tall she is right now. She has her 18 month check-up in just over a week so I'll get her measured then. Her hair is still a nice red, and her eyes are still blue, and her hair is growing quite long now--and has some natural curls in the back.

Taylor is learning to talk and tries very hard to say some words. Right now she can say clearly, "mom", "daddy", "hi", "go", & "oof oof"(for the sound of a puppy). She makes a lot of different sounds and noises these days, and she gives kisses and hugs. She also "pretend sneezes" which we think she learned from watching one of her Franklin the Turtle videos. She loves swings, slides, and being chased around the house. She is using her toys to climb up onto furniture now, so it won't be long before she is able to climb on the furniture unassisted. She is a very happy baby overall. She has also recently completed her first set of swimming lessons, called "Starfish". Her next lesson will be after she turns 18 months and will be called "Duck".

Taylor likes to watch TV & her videos, which include, "Franklin the Turtle", "4 Square", "The Big Comfy Couch", "The Wiggles", "Pocoyo", "Dora the Explorer", & "Big & Small". She also likes to play outside & go for walks.

Devin & I are doing good. I am still staying at home with Taylor and have not gone back to work. I would like to spend as much time as possible with her at home to raise her and be able to watch her grow and learn. Devin is still at Taiga Building Products as a sales representative and has now been there for 10 years. We are planning our second camping trip of the summer for July 20th, and heading out to Banff, Alberta. Our first camping trip of the season was about 2 weeks ago out to Kenosee Lake, Saskatchewan.

As always--live, love and laugh....as much as you can!
