This is the page where you can find out all the achievements Darren Alexander Kalaman has under his belt. I must say that in my 19 years of living I have accomplished so much and I still have HOPEFULLY many more years of life to keep accomplishing more great things! So enjoy this tribute to ME, and contact me if you would like more information on any of the AWARDS I've won.
During 1991-1993, I competed in the Regina Optimist public speaking competitions. I enjoyed my experience at these competitions immensely. By speaking in public in front of hundreds of people, I am now a stronger person and am not as shy as I was when I first entered elementary school. Here is a table with the awards I won during these competitions.
For the past 14 years, I have been studying voice, organ, and piano. During this time I have taken many Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music Examinations both practical and theoretical. In four of my exams (2 for voice and 2 for piano) my marks were the highest in the province of Saskatchewan. For these achievements I received silver medals and money awards. Not only have I done well in music examinations, but I have also done well in the REGINA MUSIC FESTIVAL. Since 1988, I have to my credit 19 first places, 10 second places, and 9 scholarships. The following table contains a listing of the 9 vocal scholarships I have won and the years I won them in.
This is me with the FRANK AND HILDA JONES trophy which I won in 1989 and 1990.
Throughout my high school life at Archbishop M.C. O'Neill in Regina, Saskatchewan, I received many academic awards that are definitely worth noting. The picture to the left shows me standing in the middle with an honor roll gold medal awarded to students achieving overall year end averages between 90%-100%. My overall average for four years of high school was 98%. Below is a table listing the various subject awards I won (based on highest average in the class over both semesters) according to the grade that I was in.
I am very proud of myself for achieving my dream of winning many scholarships at the end of my grade 12 year. Below are major scholarships that I have won and a few more pictures of more award memories. To date, I have received $8,300 in awards/scholarships above and beyond a 4 year tuition paid scholarship by the University of Regina.
