Newspaper Clippings

The University of Saskatchewan has a website that has scans of the Melfort Moon Newspaper and the Melfort Journal Newspaper from the early 1900's. Using the search function of the website, looking for STEWART the following were found. Unfortunately, this does not find all references in the paper but it catches many of them. This is the website reference if you wish to look at the whole newspaper instead of just the clippings. Melfort Journal or Melfort Moon

John Hillyard Stewart was Geordie Stewart's brother and he was a prominent business man in Melfort and the following are a representation of many ads that he had placed in the two newspapers. It looks like John had partnered with Herbert Keddy originally when setting up the business. Some of the first ads were Stewart & Keddy until the partnership was dissolved as you will see when the partnership breaks up in the selections that follow.
