Employment equity and workplace diversity role using my leadership, communications and partnering skills to facilitate strategies and processes for the effective integration of individuals into employment; and to ensure that the recruitment and development of associates, and the delivery of internal and external services are non-discriminatory. This is accomplished through five components to effect change: executive commitment, associate awareness and understanding, associate involvement, alignment to the corporate business plan, and effective measurement.

KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS/ACHIEVEMENTS
Initiated a partnership agreement with Access Awareness Scholarship Fund that awards scholarships to persons with disabilities to increase their education and enhance their employability and quality of life.
Lead a team of facilitators that delivered corporate diversity workshops to an organization of more than 2,100 associates, over a 24-month period. Topics included: Cross Cultural Communications, Women and Men in the Workplace, Disabilities in the Workplace, and Law and Policy.
Initiated and completed a workplace accessibility audit project for persons with disabilities. Priority retrofitting was determined before improvements were implemented.
Researched and developed a Service Quality Improvement Program based on ISO 9000 concepts.
Planned, implemented and evaluated annual "Junior Citizen of the Year Awards Program," in partnership with the Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association (SWNA).
Served as United Way "Loaned Representative," facilitating the United Way campaigns of 10 crown corporations and 13 co-ops throughout Saskatchewan.
Team leader that organized the annual 32nd Area Power Conference attended by 14 member electric utility companies in Western Canada and the north central United States.
Reporting to the Executive Vice-President and the Vice-President Human Resources and Government Relations, facilitated SaskPower's corporate employment equity and diversity program. Chaired, and led the Corporate Diversity Committee, composed of three members from management and three members each from the two different Corporation collective bargaining units.
Quality Improvement Co-ordinator - 1993-1995
Developed an enhanced associate suggestion program to ensure a continued high level of associate involvement, customer satisfaction, improved corporate performance and service excellence. Researched quality initiatives and, developed a corporate quality management program based on ISO 9000 concepts and principles.
Manager, Community Relations - 1989-1993
Developed, implemented and maintained positive relationships with diverse groups within the Province to establish communications, build trust, achieve mutual understanding, address problems and increase public awareness of SaskPower's role and responsibilities in Saskatchewan.
Manager, Special Projects - 1986-1989
Tracked public attitudes and opinions; developed a program to ensure an energy literate public; team leader in the development of a new corporate visual identity; team leader in the development and the initiation of corporate management conferences/seminars/workshops and major project activities assigned by the Vice-President of Public Affairs.
Public Affairs Officer, Community Relations Officer, and Advertising Supervisor 1968-1986
Increasing responsibility for public relations, community relations, and advertising.
Consistent outstanding performance as a defensive lineman resulted in national recognition and numerous awards, culminating in my induction into the Canadian Football League Hall of Fame and Museum in 1988.
Numerous courses, seminars and workshops concerning Employment Equity; Workplace Diversity; Human Rights legislation; Occupational Health and Safety; and Harassment and Discrimination in the workplace.
