Tilley H. Erb, son of Seth Erb & Isabella Piers, born July 7, 1876, died August 1962, buried Hatfield Point, married September 29, 1900 to

ERRAH  HATTIE” TRESSA COLEMAN, daughter of John Coleman & Jane Perkins, born August 8, 1882 at Shannon, died April 15, 1960, buried Hatfield Point.

Apr. 22, 1937 - "Walter Erb, 15 year old son of Mr. & Mrs. Tilley H. Erb, of KiersteadvilIe, had a narrow escape from drowning on Wednesday afternoon, April 7, when he crashed through the ice on Belleisle Bay.

The lad was riding his bicycle across the bay on the staked road when the ice beneath him suddenly gave way and plunged him into the icy water.  Being a swimmer, he was able to keep afloat, and, after a struggle of

some minutes, managed to pull himself up to more solid ice.  For a short distance he crawled along the ice,

and then walked to the shore."

 

The death of Errah “Hattie” Erb, wife of Tilley H. Erb,  age 77, occured at the St. Joseph Hospital, Saint John,

 on April 15.  Born in Shannon, youngest daughter of the  late John  & Jane Coleman, she lived the greater part  of her life at Belleisle Bay, and also at Lower Millstream."

 

Tilley Erb was blind from about midlife onward.  In the 1960s, he had unsuccessful cataract surgery following which he could see nothing

The death of Tilley H. Erb took place at the home of  his daughter, Mrs. Roy Johnston, KiersteadvilIe, after

 a lengthy illness.  Born at Long Point, he spent most  of his life in the Parish of Springfield, where he

 farmed, except for 12 years when he resided at Lower  Millstream.  He returned to KiersteadvilIe 4 years ago,
