Pelican Narrows is a northern village, 120km northwest of Creighton by Hanson Lake Road.The cree name is "Opawikoscikan" which means "Narrows of Fear". The population is 3,000 and I have lived in Pelican Narrows all my life.

"Narrows of Fear" known as the place where Native people would wait around for different tribes, to kill them before the tribes went into their village. Because one time, all the men were out hunting and came back to all their women missing and dead. |
