Regina Crime Trend Graphs based on data from:
Regina Police Service - Statistical Extract Reports

Last Updated: Jan 15, 2008 - last available data - Oct 2007

Crime rates tend to be variable in the short term, but steady in the long term.
Also, many crimes are seasonal, dropping off in winter.
Therefore, dramatic statements based on "point-to-point" comparisons are always suspect.

The table below is laid out similar to the Regina Police Service Monthly Statistical Extract Reports,
and the links show long term trends (Jan 2003 to Oct 2007)
(with a 4 month moving average as well as the actual crime count.)

The original Statistical Extract Reports can be viewed on the Regina Police Service web site at: http://www.reginapolice.ca/crime_stats2007.htm

Also, it should be noted that most of these statistics are based on "reported" instances of crime.
