Albert William Plummer, was
the youngest of nine children born to the family of Mary McWillie
and Francis Plummer. Albert was born at Victoria BC.,
Canada on November 10th, 1915. He received his Public schooling in
Victoria and as a young adult helped out in his parents
general store and later during the summer months worked in a fish
cannery in Alaska earning money for his higher education.
At some time around 1921 the family had moved to Kirkland, Washington
in the United States again operating a general store. Albert attended
the "University of Washington", earning a degree in Civil Engineering.
While at University he became involved in his favorite sport, baseball
which he loved and where he became known as "Slugger".
He was picked up by the miner leagues where he played a couple
of seasons of triple A, ball with the L.A. Dodgers. During world
war 11, he joined the US Navy and became a Chief Petty Officer and
was stationed at Camp Perry, VA. It was while stationed at Camp
Perry that he met the girl of his dreams, Eve Massie, at a USO social
and they were married on the 28th, of July 1944, at Richmond, Virginia.
Albert and Eve, had two children, Betty Virginia and John Albert.
Albert went on to become a dedicated outstanding civil engineer working
at various locations throughout the world. More information
on the family can be found on this web site by going to "Directory",

Alberts wife
Eve died on July 9th, 2005 at their home in Virginia and is buried
at the Harrington, Virginia, cemetery. Albert William Plummer died
on the Monday morning of July, 7th, 2006. As one goes through
life our thoughts and opinions are formed by the experiences
and knowledge gained during our life and contributes
to a large measure the making of the person we are.
Great individuals have the ability to honestly analyze that knowledge and
then direct it to the welfare of others while at the same time having
the humble ability to listen to the opinions of others..
Albert Plummer, was such a man and it was fitting that his daughter
Betty and son John along with other family members gathered in Victoria,
Canada and conducted a memorial Service in his honor. On March
22nd, the party travelled a short distance from Victoria, to Gonzales
Point, on the coast of Vancouver Island, to scatter Alberts ashes
at a spot which he always considered the most beautiful spot in the
world.

It has been said
that life must be understood backwards but must be lived forwards.
It has also been said that we are all born with possibilities,
but nothing is ours outright. As a gift we have to preform for ourselves
even for those actions which are most passive. And so it was on the
day of Alfreds memorial service that those that gathered at Gonzales
Point with sadness in their hearts looked backwards with, pride, joy
and honor on the life of Albert William Plummer, his brothers and
Sisters, his mother and father as an end came to a family generation. We
are blesseed in remembering Albert and the Plummer family
with all the pride and joy they left us as we now continue to look
forward to our own lifes possibilities. Robert McWillie.
