I love to write, and so I thought
I'd share some of my writing here. Just click on the links below
to read.
1) I'm currently writing a fantasy series. For a synopsis of
my first novel, click here.
2) For a bonus assignment in my Humanities 260 ~ Utopian Literature
class, I wrote an essay on the dystopian aspects of the imaginary world
in my fantasy series, Lajen. To read it, click here.
3) Another assignment in my Hum 260 class was to write an essay
about our own idea of a utopia, using the works we had discussed in class.
To read about my utopian city, Yesland, click here.
4) Since we're on the topic of assignments, why not read my
essay for my English 110 class, the romance pattern in travel writing
as illustrated in J. R. R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings? Click here.
5) I wrote this short story, "Curse of a Demon", in grade 8 for english
class, I believe. Keep in mind that it's one of the first short stories
I wrote. :O)
6) This next story is called "Shadows from the Past", and I wrote
it for the Sagehill writing experience in 1998 or 99, I think.
7) I wrote "Double Vision"
for a creative writing workshop I attended in grade 10 or 11, with
children's book author Edward Willet. That was an amazing experience!
Unlike most of my other stories, I actually revised it after, when
I read it to my grade 12 Advanced English 30 class, (for show and tell
:O) ) so I think it's a bit better than the others--but still not perfect.
;O)
8) I took a Creative Writing class in grade 11. I wrote
a bunch of stuff for it. One of the funniest was an-almost parody
of Sleeping Beauty, which I called Sleeping
Sportsman. It's in the form of a play, and some of my friends
and I made a tape of it, which I can't watch without laughing hysterically.
The play isn't as funny as the tape (my friends' acting was, um, great
:O) ) but still pretty good.
9) Another piece I wrote for that Creative Writing class is
called The Taxidermist. It's
meant to be a horror story-type thing, but was actually based off of one
of our many . . . unorthodox . . . conversations in CW. Ah, the
Assassin, how we miss ye! :OD By the way, did you know the
proper term for 'taxiderming' an animal is mounting? Hee hee . .
. ;-P
10) Ok, I couldn't resist . . . here's a report I wrote for the
Imperium of Knowledge on Taxidermy. I don't know why, but I did a
presentation on the subject in I of K, complete with models from biology
class. I guess it was my current obsession in grade 11 . . . :OD
(Sorry, I have not yet been able to locate a copy of this file; when
I do I'll put it up)
11) Here are some poems that I wrote
for CW, too. Look for the caribou limerick! :O)
12) If I write anything new, or find anything else, I'll post
it here! Thanks for reading!! :OD
