June 2006:
Arrival of rebuilt, but never used Toyota 3-TC engine from ToonTown. At the time I purchased this I was still undecided about many aspects of the project. But the price was too good ($80) to pass up. I figured if I decided to go a different direction I would be able to sell it and get my money out of it.

August 2006:
City of Regina Police Auction has rusty, f-ugly four-door '81 Corolla. It came with the optional cannibis leaf stickers all over interior. It also has 3-TC engine, with 5 speed manual.
Hmmm... I guess the direction of the project has been decided ! Toyota power, solid rear axle ! The car sat in the driveway until October. Time to strip it before the snow comes:
I don't normally pull engines from the side of the car. But that was the space I had left to use at the time.

The donor car also came with the lovely ventilated engine block.
Well, that was it until summer 2007. In the interim period I was able to get my garage furnace installed, installed poly and drywall on the ceiling and installed 8' fluorescent light fixtures. Everything takes time and $$... mostly $$ !
