Tournament Games are 1 Hour Only

 

Tournament Rules

· Typical/traditional softball rules are played.

· Umpire—coaches need to find and agree on an umpire for each game.

· Flip a coin to see which team is home team.  One coach and one player captain (for each game) for each team should meet at home plate, with the umpire present.

· Parent pitch, player catch.

· Play as many innings as you can within the allotted time frame.

· In the event of a tie, flip a coin to determine the winner.

· All players play in field.

· Coach can use any batting order and fielding positions for the tournament.

· 3 strikes the batter is out; 4 balls the batter gets a walk.  Umpire will call balls and strikes.  Example—a batter cannot choose not to swing, just to get a walk.  If the pitch is a strike, it will be called a strike.

· If a player makes an ‘out’ while playing defense (in the field) the runner is out.

· 5 run mercy rule, per inning.

· Once the 5 runs per side, per inning has been reach, or the team has 3 outs, the rest of the team bats.  No further runs or outs count.

· At the end of the tournament, when your team has played their final game, please have the teams line up, one team along the first base line, and the other team along the 3rd base line.  Tournament ribbons will be distributed to the teams by the coach and assistant coach.  Good photo op! 

· Player cards and pictures will be distributed at a later date.
