This is a tournament, so teams need to keep score.

 

Typical/traditional softball rules are played.

 

Umpire—coaches need to find and agree upon an umpire for each game.

 

Flip a coin to see which team is home team.  One coach and one player captain (for that game) for each team should meet at home plate, with the umpire present.

 

Player Pitch.  A pitcher can only pitch one inning per game.

 

Player Catch.

 

Play as many innings are you can within the allotted time frame.

 

5 run mercy rule, per inning.

 

Last inning, last at bat—open ended.  This means—if the team that is last at bat needs a certain amount of runs to win (more than 5), then they can play for the win, or, until 3 outs are made.  In the event of a tie— the umpire and the same individuals who flipped a coin at the beginning of the game meet at home plate and flip a coin for the win.

 

Teams should play at least 3 innings—but may play more if time permits.  Teams have a 30 minute cushion between games in order to finish an inning.

 

 

This is a tournament so coaches can strategize for batting order and fielding positions.

 

Player cards/picture packages will not be distributed at the tournament.
