Pre- Activity
Before you can begin your quest, we need to know what kind of detective you are. There are a number of different suspects, and we want to match the detectives with the suspects.
Very few people in the world are good at everything. Some are good at music, some are good at sports, some are good at math, some are good at writing,
some are good at talking to other people. In the 1980’s, a man name Howard Gardner created a theory to explain how and why people are good at some things and not so good at other things. He called his theory the Multiple Intelligences Theory. He believed that there were 8 different ‘types’ of intelligence, and that everybody had all the intelligences, but were stronger at some and weaker at others.
In order to make this webquest work better, we have designed the suspects
and trails to suit different intelligences. Each of you will take a short, online test, determine which type(s) of intelligence you are strongest in, and follow the trail related to that intelligence. All the trails lead back to the same spot. We just
hope that by doing it this way, the quest will be more enjoyable and meaningful
to you.
To start, please proceed to the testing site by clicking on the link below. Once there, scroll down to the bottom of the page, answer the 4 questions, and click the BEGIN button. Once you have finished the test, you will be given an ID number and your test results. Write down the ID number, and your highest intelligence category. E-mail this material to your teacher, and then return to the webquest (may need to retype URL or access favourit list).
Please go to the Multiple Intelligence Inventory
and take the inventory. Record your results and e-mail me the results.
You will need this information to help you in your quest. Once done you are ready to embark on your task. Click here to find out what it is.
