Photos from the Round Lake Weekend 2002

Steve: Just got back and what a great weekend. I want to get some of this down before time starts to wear the edges off. We spent the weekend at a trio of cabins owned by Kathy's parents. The Hot Tub was used every single night, even though one of them was so cold it almost snowed. One night the Northern Lights were just beautiful and we sat back in the hot tub drinking and watching them. That was my best time of the weekend I think - 'way too peaceful and relaxing.
Some great conversations aroudn the fire, but I noticed a tendency to reminisce about past Round Lake weekends. To me this indicates the Round Lake Weekend Website is about to come into its own. Too bad I did not write down some of the great memories people came up with. I also better get that video footage found and catalogued and ready for play. Maybe the Round Lake Weekend XX should be sitting down and watching 15 years worth of video footage? Are we getting old? Are the stories getting better than the weekend itself? I don't think so because this weekend created it's own stories.
Friday Night Holly went a little far with Vanilla Vodka. Kinda ruined her Saturday I think.
Jeff was flying his kite with these wind sock thingys attached. One broke loose and went soaring down into the bush somewhere amongst the cottages. I went up to look. There was a great amount of searching before the first was found. While I searched the other broke loose and went down. Scott found the second one and Jeff climbed both trees to rescue each in turn. Sure hope we can get scans of the pictures Scott took up on the website (yes this is a hint Scott).
Shannon introduced a new Round Lake Weekend tradition - Marshmallow shooters! Shelley took to them like a duck to water.
We won't soon forget the experience out on the big tube being towed behind Leen's boat. My tendons are still sore in my right arm from trying to hold on! Great footage of Adam and Sean crashing through the waves.
In attendance: Fred, Jeff & Kathy, Steve & Shelley, Holly & Murray, Debbie, Paul & Shannon, Scott & Kandi, Leen & Alison.
Children along for the ride: Sean, Adam, Kimberley, Krista, Duncan, Tasha, Melany, Amber, Eric, Conner, Kirsten, Baby Joey. (Note that with the addition of 3 more children or the subtraction of 3 adults, they would have outnumbered us)
