From a cable access
show in Regina, Saskatchewan to national television, the comedy of James
and Kevin has cut a swath through the fabric of established comedy.
Access Communication's
hit series The James and Kevin Show ran from July 1993 to 1998. (The
last episode was filmed in the summer of 1997).
"If you haven't seen The James and Kevin Show,"
writes the Leader-Post, "imagine mixing On the Road Again
with SCTV and administering laughing gas. Or you could
think of it as an upscale Wayne's World with Wayne being able to
converse knowledgeably..."
The series mixes improvised on-the-street
interviews with pop culture parody and television satire. James and
Kevin have won many local and national awards for their cable series.
The James and
Kevin Show web site started broadcasting the comedians' skits to anyone in
the world with a computer starting in 1996. PC Life Magazine said
The James and Kevin Show had content that gives "Comedy Central a run for
its money."
It wasn't long before
national TV series were in development and the duo were hosting
the 1997-98 season of
Just for Laughs on CBC Television,
not to mention participating in a failed pilot for NBC called Internet
Bytes.
James and Kevin's new series
Screwheads was recently seen on CBC TV's ZeD. Look
for more of Screwheads coming soon!
