Almost a million viewers tuned in on Monday nights to catch the hilarious antics on JUST FOR LAUGHS, from stand-up to dance to acrobatics and sketch comedy performances.

In the 1997-98 season, ten brand new episodes featured a host of great talent including: Drew Carey (The Drew Carey Show); Lea Thompson (Caroline In The City); David Hyde Pierce (Frasier); Ray Romano (Everyone Loves Raymond); Anthony Clark (Boston Common); Jeremy Hotz (CBC TV's The Newsroom), Derek Edwards and Mike MacDonald, the only comic to be invited back annually.

New in that season was a three-minute segment in every episode. Just For Laughs Vignettes of Glory with Regina-based comedians James and Kevin, produced and directed by Dan Redican (The Frantics).

(Aired Monday's at 8:00 pm on CBC)

James Whittingham and Kevin Allardyce appeared in the CBC's Just For Laughs television series in 1997-98.  They appeared in 3 one-minute segments in each of the ten half hour shows.  James and Kevin were in Montreal taping the segments during the 1997 Just for Laughs Festival in late July.

When comedian Dan Redican was hired to produce host segments for this year's Just for Laughs series on CBC English television, he chose two cable access funny men from Regina.  James Whittingham and Kevin Allardyce from Cable Regina's award-winning The James and Kevin Show taped 30 one-minute comedy vignettes in Montreal for the 10 episode series Mondays at 8:00 pm on the full CBC network.

The series features top comedians performing at the annual Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal in July.  Dan Redican (The Frantics, producer: Kids in the Hall, The Jenny MacArthy Show) produced, directed, wrote, and even appeared in three episodes with James and Kevin.

Each episode of Just for Laughs  features  three-one minute segments with James and Kevin.  In one show James and Kevin examine the urban legend of businessmen living in the sewers of  Montreal.  Another sees the return of Regina favourite Mr. Pencilhead (Kevin Allardyce with a pencil in his head) paying tribute to hockey legend Gary Sawchuck.
