The Forest

Whether they are located in Northern Canada or the Southern depths of our provinces, forests have a very powerful and mystical effect upon us. Artists are inspired and rejuvenated after a walk through a forest area. Even the dead wood provides usable images as abstract shapes in the foreground or background of a painting. This intricate menagerie of rock, wood and streams provides shelter or quiet spots for anyone who needs to stop and reflect or calm their thoughts after a hectic day. You can appreciate a forest environment from the most minimal form of life in it to the largest tree. My impressions of the images experienced in walking through and photographing choice spots are developed as a combination of realistic and abstract shapes peppered with a certain amount of artistic licence in the mix.
