John and Family Immigrating to Canada from Poland as a teenager, John always knew the value of hard work and the importance of selfless effort for others. Today, John continues to be active within many organizations like the Regina Multicultural Council, Polish Canadian Cultural Club, Dewdney East Community Association, Glen Elm Public Library, and community connection events. John and his wife Shelley are parents to three children and four grandchildren. Outside of his city councillor duties, John works for the Dilawri Group of Companies as Manager of Inside Services. John has been a proud resident of Ward Five for the past 25 years. He understands and empathizes with the needs of the community. Issues of taxation, utilities, roads, the environment, equality, policing, schools and seniors are all areas John fights for. John has worked selflessly for the citizens of this community. One of John's accomplishments: A new sign was installed to reduce semi traffic Ring Road off ramp onto Dewdney Avenue East. John has worked hard while his time in office. These are just some of the things that John has been able to accomplish as councillor of Ward 5. • 100% attendance for all city council meetings. • Provided input to the Comprehensive Housing Strategy. • Involved with Design Regina to influence city's plans for growth. • Repavement of Dewdney Avenue, Cambridge Avenue, 7th Avenue East. • Worked to reduced crime rate in Ward 5. • Voted against pay raise for mayor and councillors. • Voted against water utility increase. • Voted against body rub establishments. • Voted in favour of a mill rate increase of 0.025 percent that would be dedicated towards recreational facilities. • Voted in favour of removing the Local Improvement Program and substituted it with a mill rate increase for road improvement instead.
