8th Ready'reat (cont...)
Sadly the party gathers up (scrapes up) the remains (or most of them) of their dear friend A'Ha. They rest up that night in the temple, readying themselves to trek back to the Centaur's Pool of Restoration.
9th Ready'reat
Traveling to the pool to restore A'Ha. Snf'L's keen eyes spot a giant in the trees ahead. The giant does not look like it causing any harm, so they party lets it pass. Lucky giant!
The party arrives in Unicks, after crossing the Artonsamay quite cheaply, and they say at the Whetstone. They meet up with Coderick and chat for a bit. Coderick is invited to accompany the party on their quest.
10th Ready'reat
The party departs for the pool. The lay A'Ha carefully (well a piece of him anyway) into the healing waters of the pool, and he is restored, somewhat grayer in skin-hue than even before. His skin is quite hard as well. The party prepares to return to Unicks, but must camp the night.
11th Ready'reat
Back in Unicks, Coderick makes a deal for enough horses for the entire party. He makes a deal for 2 days of riding lessons as well. He wants to get to the point where he at least won't fall off constantly. When the elves arrive back in Unicks late in the day, Snf'L makes an effort to get the church of Sehanine to accept his apology. It is reluctantly but sincerely accepted.
12th Ready'reat
With winter threatening, the party heads out, determined to leave their forest home behind them and head into human lands. Just as they break out of the forest into a clearing the size of which makes their hearts race, they see that several ugly creatures have made an ambush for a road that winds nea rthe Southern edge of the forest. The party tries to turn the tables on these creatures (which turn out to be bugbears) and ambush them. A fight ensues, and the party is victorious, with no casualties.
From the diary of El'Fross:
Yet another trip to the restoration pool on behalf of our fallen brother, A’ha. With the help of Sehanine, he once again emerged, a little greyer, and a little more bitter, but otherwise no worse for wear. The gods continue to allow our perpetually dying friend back into the world, to help us continue our journey. After a brief and now common reunion, we travelled on to Unix to re-supply and prepare for the next leg of our plan.
After some debate, we decided to follow the edge of the forest to its southern-most tip before continuing on into the nothingness that awaited us. The first day we came across a group of ugly creatures that were lying in wait for travellers. We did the world a favour and slayed the vile things. The second day out I was attacked by an extraordinary creature which very nearly killed me before the rest of the party helped me defeat it.
